Important Notes

Health and safety advice

  1. Participants should make sure their health conditions are suitable for the strenuous event. In cases of doubt, please seek medical advice in advance.
  2. Participants should understand the event content and nature and that participating in this event requires physical exertion. Participants should be in sound medical condition capable of participating in the event. All participants are suggested to monitor their own physical conditions deemed fit and capable for participating in the event. In case you are feeling sick during the event, you should immediately stop participating and seek help from onsite event officials.
  3. Participants should take protective measures against UV, such as applying sunscreen, wearing caps and maintaining hydration.
  4. The Organizer reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event and such person shall accept.
  5. Participants are advised to arrange their own insurance coverage.

Clothing

  1. Participants are recommended to wear lightweight, quick-drying and heat-dissipating sports clothes.
  2. New running shoes are not advised to wear on the event day.
  3. Children should avoid wearing oversized or unsuitable sportswear.

Preparation Before Event

  1. An extra set of changing clothes can be prepared for children participating in the event.
  2. Wet towels, water, and biscuits are advised to bring for replenishing your children’s energy.
  3. It is ideal to take your kids to practice comfortably for 20 to 30 minutes each day if time allows leading up to the event. Use sprint running, chasing running, and then progress to intermittent fast running and slow running to complete the specified mileage. Do not put too much pressure on the children.
  4. Warm-up exercises and drinking water are important for the children before the event. The water temperature should not be overly cold or hot to avoid affecting gastrointestinal absorption or making it difficult to drink.
  5. After the game, let the children rest to regain their strength, drink some water and bananas, and change into dry clothes. It is advisable to rest up early the night after returning home.
  6. Participants are advised to enquire the Hong Kong Observatory (Tel: 1878200) about the weather conditions on the morning of the event day.

Others

  1. Participants are not allowed to bring any item that may pose a threat or impede the progress of the event (such as offensive weapons, or items that impede other participants) into the competition area. Violators will be asked to leave the track immediately and be disqualified.
  2. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who is proven to have received outside assistance in any way during the event.
  3. To ensure the safety of all participants, the event staff will maintain order along the track. Participants must obey the instructions of the staff.
  4. Participants should leave the finish area as soon as possible after arriving at the finish line to avoid overcrowding and to prevent accidents.
